We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Kimar Morris as the new head coach of the girls' basketball program at Hamilton High School. Coach Morris brings with him a bold vision and a commitment to excellence, determined to revitalize a program that has faced challenges in recent years.
Taking on this role may seem daunting to some, given the program's recent history of struggles on the court. With only two winning seasons over the last 20 years and a revolving door of coaches, the task ahead may appear formidable.
However, it is precisely this challenge that has drawn Coach Morris to the position.
"I understand that many people might think taking on this job is crazy given the program's recent history," said Morris. "But it's precisely the challenge that excites me. I've seen firsthand what can be accomplished with dedication, hard work, and a supportive community here in Hamilton."
Coach Morris brings with him a proven track record of success, having worked alongside Coach Kevin Higgins to reestablish the boys' basketball program at Hamilton High School over the past six years. Their close relationship and shared commitment to excellence have laid the groundwork for success, and Coach Morris is eager to replicate that success with the girls' program.
"I have a great relationship with Coach Higgins, and together we've seen the boys' program grow and thrive," Coach Morris explained. "I'm looking forward to bringing that same energy and determination to the girls' program. While I understand that it will take time, I firmly believe in the potential of this community and our student-athletes to excel both on and off the court."
With a deep understanding of what it takes to rebuild and elevate programs, Coach Morris is poised to make a lasting impact on the girls' basketball program here at Hamilton. With a focus on skill development, teamwork, and fostering a positive team culture, he stated, "I am committed to building a program that not only achieves success on the court but also develops resilient, confident, and well-rounded student-athletes who are prepared to excel both in sports and in life and contribute positively to their community."
Please join us in welcoming Coach Morris to Hamilton High School and in supporting the continued growth and success of the girls' basketball program. Together, let's embark on this exciting journey and strive for greatness both on and off the court!
